Most teens are deficient in many essential nutrients. This can linger into their 20’s affecting development. Teen girls in particular and girls in their 20’s have low intake of Protein, Iron, Magnesium, Folate, B6 and B12.
The best way to help with these deficiencies is to consume meat, vegetables, fruits, sweet potatoes, rice and beans. Eating these nutrient dense foods will really help with getting these nutrients in.
As a teen I was not educated on healthy food choices. I had many gut issues as a teenager that went into my late 20’s. As I grew older and started to educate myself I realized just how bad I had been eating all my life. My mom considered canned corn was a great vegetable and counted.
Please educate your teens on proper health and just how important this part of their life is for setting them up for a bright healthy future.
